Image registration ( georeferencing) , mosaicing, clipping for ArcView and MapInfo

Smartimage is a bundle of image manipulation tools, including image registration, mosaicing, clipping
and more. It has been released as an extension for ArcView and as an application tool for MapInfo.

Smartimage allows images such as aerial photographs and satellite images to be incorporated into an ArcView or MapInfo project. The separate interfaces allow the registration and manipulation of imagery wholly within ArcView or MapInfo.

Smartimage allows the registration of images to be done using map coordinates or on-screen digital data using two windows. It gives you the choice of using as many points as you want to from two upwards.

The most user friendly interface you will ever see allows you to edit points by moving them onscreen with RMS error updates in real time. You can save your control points to continue your work at a later date. You can warp the image using one of five techniques: linear, bilinear, biquadratic, bicubic or simple scale and translate. It creates a new image file by using your choice of nearest neighbour or linear interpolation resampling. A world file for the tiff is generated and the image is then ready to be incorporated into your view.

Smartimage also features mosaicing, clipping and image manipulation tools.
